Share Tea

11900 South St #106
Cerritos, CA 90703
I decided to go to Share Tea with Choua after I read about it on Yelp. We went around 4pm and it was pretty empty at first. There was only one person in front of us and so we looked at the menu. As usual, it took me some time before I narrowed down my options.

Choua always knows what she wants so as usual, she chose something with coffee in it, a
coffee float I believe it was called.

As for me, I couldn't decide between the Classic Milk Tea or the Fresh Milk Tea. Therefore, when it was our turn to order, I asked the girl who at the registrar several questions. I asked her what the difference between the two drinks are and if there is a noticeable difference in the taste. What I learned is that in their Classic Milk Tea, they use brown sugar!!! That sounded good so I decided to try something new and went with the Classic! Then as I turned around, I saw that there was a huge line behind us :D I guess I always attract people into boba shops ^_^
While waiting for our drinks to be ready, we looked around a bit and saw this cute building make of straw wrappers. It says that we will get good luck if we tie our straw wrappers there! Who doesn't need a little luck, right? :D

My drink came and it was huge. They only have one size. I added boba and pudding to mine. I had mine at 70% sugar and less ice. I took a sip and it reminded me a lot of Taiwan. Oh how I miss drink boba milk teas in Taiwan :'( I asked for the pudding to be chopped into smaller pieces, but they chopped it a little bit too small so I could barely taste the pudding :( Other than that, I really enjoyed the drink. I wish they had a smaller size though.

I decided to take my straw wrapper and contribute to the tower of straw wrappers for some good luck!

Zero Degrees

17575 Colima Rd
City of Industry, CA 91748

Hello! I went to Zero Degrees on a Tuesday mainly because Half & Half was closed hehehe Anyways, I went there with my friend Yejia after having very spicy Chengdu food. Therefore, this visit was very spontaneous. I didn't know what to order so I debated for a long time. I finally asked the guy at the registrar if I can try the green milk tea. He came out with a small sample cup and I tried it. However, the green milk tea was way too sweet for me and they couldn't adjust the sugar level :( Therefore, I decided to just get the watermelon slush with no additional sugar (bad choice because the watermelon that they used was not sweet at all so I felt like I was drinking water wth boba in it). One thing to mention is that the guy that took our order had such nice handwriting, especially when writing my friend's English name, Jade.

Since I was very sad about my watermelon slush, I decided to get ANOTHER drink ^_^ So I ordered a thai tea drink :D

I liked this place, but I don't enjoy the drinks as much mainly because of the fact that you can't control the sugar levels of many of the drinks, but other than that, this is a nice place to hang out and have a snack :)

Bon Bon Tea House

9663 Reseda Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 91324

It was a Saturday after my RICA workshop in Northridge and after having dim sum with Kak and my sister Choua, I wanted to have something refreshing afterwards so Choua found a new tea place for us to try out. I really wanted to try their grapefruit green tea and I was hoping they would use the real grapefruit. However, when I asked, they told me they only use syrups so I was pretty disappointed. I didn't want to risk it so I decided to go with a passion fruit green tea (AGAIN), but with green apple jelly this time :D
They had a nice hangout area with sofas and there were a few other tables as well so the place was a good size. The person who took my order was pretty nice too so the overall experience ordering was great. Oh, I forgot to mention I got a size upgrade because I checked in on yelp ^_^ I was excited when my drink appeared from behind the curtains!
My drink was half sweet with less ice (as usual) and it tasted a bit too sweet. There was a very strong tea aftertaste to it. I liked how the jelly was a little sour to balance out the sweetness of the passion fruit tea.

85 Degrees

535 N Commonwealth Ave,

Fullerton, CA 92831

So I have been to 85 degrees several times before, but I rarely get their tea drinks so this time, I decided to get their passion fruit green tea. I asked for half sweet and light ice. That day, I didn't feel like having boba so I left that out. I like the environment plus this 85 degree is a good size so I felt comfortable.

The next week, I decided to go back to 85 and try their grapefruit green tea because I was craving grapefruit. I went around 9:30pm, 30 minutes before they closed and therefore had to order from the main register area. The person who took my order placed my order slightly off. I am very particular when it comes to my boba drinks and when it goes wrong, I get pretty sad. I ordered half sugar, but the person put it in as less sugar so when I got my drink, it was SO SWEET :'( I was pretty sad, but I dealt with it quite well so I'm proud of myself hahaha I got boba with it this time and I enjoyed the boba. The sweetness was getting to me so when I got home, I sliced half of an orange and squeezed it into my tea and it tasted a lot better ^_^

TEA BAR (JUNGLE)

18178 Colima Rd.
Rowland Heights, CA 91748

I went to Tea Bar with my brother and two sisters. We decided on this cafe because we were looking for a good passion fruit green tea drink and it seemed like theirs might taste good. So we went there and it didn't seem to be that busy. We ordered a passion fruit green tea, a jasmine green tea, and iced caramel coffee along with popcorn chicken.

We went to sit down and didn't think the wait would be as long as it was. We waited at least 20 minutes before the popcorn chicken was ready and about another 15 minutes before our drinks were ready. It seemed like they were understaffed that night because that was a very long wait for me.

The passion fruit green tea drink was pretty good. The taste was not too sweet, but not too bitter and it had a refreshing crisp taste to it. We ordered ours with their crystal boba - my first time trying it. The crystal boba didn't taste bad, but I didn't like it as much as regular boba. The crystal boba is clear and is harder towards the middle.

Sadly, I didn't take any pictures that night so I don't have any for this post, sadly :( But if I happen to go here again in the future, I will remember to take a picture! Below is my rating as usual :)

TEA RUSH

2759 S Diamond Bar Blvd
Diamond Bar, CA 91765

I went here on a Wednesday night. It was very dead. No one was in the cafe. I heard about their Aquamarine drink on yelp and decided to try out the drink mainly because the name enticed me :D

The Aquamarine is a passion fruit green tea drink. The drink was not great, but not bad either. The boba however is not good at all. It's very plain and tastes a bit like plastic :( Overall, not a very good experience.

1st Boba Post!!!

Lollicup in West LA - 2206 Sawtelle Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90025

Today, with the help of my youngest sister, Nancy, I decided that I will blog my boba experiences for myself as well as for those who may benefit from my review. I will have a rating for the tea itself, the boba, and the environment. I'll start off with that and then see what else I want to add on.

Today I tried my first grapefruit green tea in America. They used real grapefruit and therefore it was pretty bitter (I asked for less sugar :0) so I gave it back to them and asked for more sugar lol It tasted fine after that. The drink itself was really refreshing. The boba was just alright, not bad, but not great. They said it was honey boba, but I felt like it wasn't. But again, it might be because my drink was bitter overall. However the environment was really nice and the weather was very nice.
