Almond Haus

12549 Harbor Boulevard
Garden Grove, CA 92840
I came here after dinner with my friend, Emily. We were very excited to try this place! The menu was nice and simple. They had samples of each tea for us to try if we wanted, which was super nice. I tried the green milk tea, jasmine milk tea, taro, and Hokkaido milk tea. I liked the Hokkaido milk tea, but I got it 75% sweet and less boba since I was full from dinner. I also got it with less ice. The girl at the counter was really nice and patient and really helped us out.
This shop is very spacious and had a lot of tables for their customers, which is nice if you have a bigger group of friends coming. One thing that did catch my eye was how plain the wall was (nothing bad about being plain, but just not my cup of tea). It might also be because they only opened for two months?
Anyways, I got my drink and it tasted really good! They make almost all of their milk tea drinks using almond milk so if you don't like almond milk, this is not the place for you lol ^_^

Boba Guys - Boba in New York

23 Clinton St
New York, NY 10002

I had to try boba in New York, just to compare. On my first day in New York, I decided to go here, Boba Guys and try their boba. It was kind of chilly that evening, but it was okay, I still needed to try my boba.
The shop was a decent size. The interior was not colorful at all (as you can see in the above pictures). However, they still had some nice posters on the wall along with some tea bags and cute mason jars. The style here was plain and simple. I was in the mood for a rose milk green tea so I ordered that with less sugar and less ice and boba. The boba itself was not good as I assumed. It was not chewy and had a hard core. Also, the boba got hard after being left in the drink for a while. The rose milk tea was watery, not milky enough for me. The guy taking my order had okay service and the environment itself was just okay. It didn't feel too comfortable, but it wasn't bad.

Trinitea

3865 Fifth Ave
San Diego, CA 92103

This boba shop was very spacious. There was a lot of things in the shop from tea jars to puzzles, books, and board games.

Nice and colorful menu! I was ordering for all my siblings and so I started to order for them. The guy who was taking my order didn't seem to know much about boba. He looked at me like I was crazy when I asked to adjust the sweetness as well as the ice levels so that was kind of upsetting. He didn't have a good attitude overall so service was not good, in my opinion.

Anyways, I ordered the classic Trinitea Milk Tea with 75% sugar and less ice. The tea was just okay, a bit watery for my liking. The boba was a bit too soggy. My older brother, Cheng, got his regular passion fruit green tea. My younger sister, Nancy, also got her regular strawberry green tea and then I forgot what my older sister, Lee, ordered :( It was some kind of milk tea though?!

Twinkle Brown Sugar

406 E Valley Blvd
Alhambra, CA 91801

I came to Twinkle Brown Sugar with my friend Laura for her birthday after we ate dinner. We came at around 10:30 and they were closing at 11:00 so we were kind of sad. I was feeling like I wanted a light drink after the Sushi we had so I ordered a passion fruit green tea without any boba or toppings :o I believe I got it half sweet and it tasted like any other passion fruit tea that I have gotten in the past, so nothing bad about it, but nothing amazing about it either. Laura had a hard time choosing what to get so we took about 5 minutes talking with the kind girl at the register. Laura finally decided on a milk tea with peach flavor and coffee jelly, I believe. One reason why I should update this blog as soon as I go explore a boba shop is because then I forget :(

I did like the environment of the shop. The shop is on the smaller side, but they still had several tables for their customers so that was good! The lights are very pretty and makes the place look very classy!
I really like the chalk writings at boba shops! I think they are so cute!!! :)

Tea Arias

7184 Edinger Ave
Huntington Beach, CA 92647

My classmate Teeng-Ting and I came here after eating Thai food after surfing! It was my first time surfing and I was exhausted afterwards so I definitely needed a boba drink. I yelped this place and the name caught my attention. As we entered this boba shop, it was very spacious and clean. There were nice pictures hung on the walls. They also had tea for sale and had it all displayed really nicely.

Anyways, other than the wonderful indoor decorations and arrangement, they also had a lot of tea drink options so I spent a good 5-7 minutes deciding which drink to get. Teeng-ting had a much easier time deciding lol I finally the Strawberry Twist with chia seeds and Teeng-ting got the Pacific Sunrise with basil seeds. The drinks came out to be soooo pretty!!! We didn't want to mix it up or drink it because it was very pretty.

My drink was a bit too sweet and I couldn't taste the lime that was supposed to be in there so I went back and asked them to make it a bit more sour. The girl was very nice and she explained to me that if she makes it more sour, then it would also become a bit more sweet because the strawberry juice is pre-made with lemon juice in it so increasing the sourness will increase the sweetness too. I was willing to take the risk and it turned out to be really good!
The drink on the right is the strawberry twist and the one on the left is the pacific sunrise. They were both really good, but I liked my drink better ^_^

New Sharetea in Fullerton!

2445 E Chapman Ave
 Fullerton, CA 92831

I was so excited when I saw that a Sharetea was opening like next to my apartment LITERALLY! So on the first day of their soft opening, I went and ordered a drink. I didn't really know what soft opening meant so I thought they would have every drink, but nope. I was going to order a fresh milk green tea, but they didn't have that available yet so I couldn't decide on what drink to get. I talked to the girl at the register and asked for her opinion on what to get. I told her I like the classic milk tea, but I want to try something new. She recommended me the honey milk tea. That enticed me because I do like for my fruit teas to be sweetened with real honey, but I have never tried it in milk tea. I was adventurous and went for it!
I was excited to try it, BUT it disappointed me :( It was too sweet and my tummy didn't like the mixture of milk with honey. The boba itself was really good, but the drink was so sweet that I think it might be one of the only drinks that I bought and didn't finish :( Such a sad start! Oh well, there will be better days! :D

Cafe Bing

124 W Wilshire Ave
Fullerton, CA 92832

I went here with my classmate, Sujin. We wanted to get some school work done so we came here on a Friday afternoon. I ordered a pepperoni panini along with a jasmine green tea with boba (they had a deal for buy a panini, get the drink 1/2 off). I wasn't a fan of the panini bread because I was expecting the "normal" panini break. However, I was too hungry to complain hahaha The jasmine green tea was very standard, not great, but not horrible. The boba was also just okay.

This is a great place to do work if Bolu Cafe is full hahaha, but I prefer Bolu. After coming here with Sujin, I came back a different night to do more work and so I tried another tea drink.

I ordered a passion fruit green tea because that was the safest bet. I was going to order a grapefruit if they used real grapefruit in the drink, but they didn't so I stuck with my usual. The drink was pretty nice, but it was a bit too sweet for my liking. One thing I do like about this boba shop is they have really nice seat cushions and sofa benches so it makes studying/working very comfortable.
