Almond Haus

12549 Harbor Boulevard
Garden Grove, CA 92840
I came here after dinner with my friend, Emily. We were very excited to try this place! The menu was nice and simple. They had samples of each tea for us to try if we wanted, which was super nice. I tried the green milk tea, jasmine milk tea, taro, and Hokkaido milk tea. I liked the Hokkaido milk tea, but I got it 75% sweet and less boba since I was full from dinner. I also got it with less ice. The girl at the counter was really nice and patient and really helped us out.
This shop is very spacious and had a lot of tables for their customers, which is nice if you have a bigger group of friends coming. One thing that did catch my eye was how plain the wall was (nothing bad about being plain, but just not my cup of tea). It might also be because they only opened for two months?
Anyways, I got my drink and it tasted really good! They make almost all of their milk tea drinks using almond milk so if you don't like almond milk, this is not the place for you lol ^_^

Boba Guys - Boba in New York

23 Clinton St
New York, NY 10002

I had to try boba in New York, just to compare. On my first day in New York, I decided to go here, Boba Guys and try their boba. It was kind of chilly that evening, but it was okay, I still needed to try my boba.
The shop was a decent size. The interior was not colorful at all (as you can see in the above pictures). However, they still had some nice posters on the wall along with some tea bags and cute mason jars. The style here was plain and simple. I was in the mood for a rose milk green tea so I ordered that with less sugar and less ice and boba. The boba itself was not good as I assumed. It was not chewy and had a hard core. Also, the boba got hard after being left in the drink for a while. The rose milk tea was watery, not milky enough for me. The guy taking my order had okay service and the environment itself was just okay. It didn't feel too comfortable, but it wasn't bad.

Trinitea

3865 Fifth Ave
San Diego, CA 92103

This boba shop was very spacious. There was a lot of things in the shop from tea jars to puzzles, books, and board games.

Nice and colorful menu! I was ordering for all my siblings and so I started to order for them. The guy who was taking my order didn't seem to know much about boba. He looked at me like I was crazy when I asked to adjust the sweetness as well as the ice levels so that was kind of upsetting. He didn't have a good attitude overall so service was not good, in my opinion.

Anyways, I ordered the classic Trinitea Milk Tea with 75% sugar and less ice. The tea was just okay, a bit watery for my liking. The boba was a bit too soggy. My older brother, Cheng, got his regular passion fruit green tea. My younger sister, Nancy, also got her regular strawberry green tea and then I forgot what my older sister, Lee, ordered :( It was some kind of milk tea though?!

Twinkle Brown Sugar

406 E Valley Blvd
Alhambra, CA 91801

I came to Twinkle Brown Sugar with my friend Laura for her birthday after we ate dinner. We came at around 10:30 and they were closing at 11:00 so we were kind of sad. I was feeling like I wanted a light drink after the Sushi we had so I ordered a passion fruit green tea without any boba or toppings :o I believe I got it half sweet and it tasted like any other passion fruit tea that I have gotten in the past, so nothing bad about it, but nothing amazing about it either. Laura had a hard time choosing what to get so we took about 5 minutes talking with the kind girl at the register. Laura finally decided on a milk tea with peach flavor and coffee jelly, I believe. One reason why I should update this blog as soon as I go explore a boba shop is because then I forget :(

I did like the environment of the shop. The shop is on the smaller side, but they still had several tables for their customers so that was good! The lights are very pretty and makes the place look very classy!
I really like the chalk writings at boba shops! I think they are so cute!!! :)
